Busy Week Ahead for Derek Griffith Racing

(Tyngsboro, MA) – Derek Griffith is set to race two times this week in two different states with the hopes of grabbing solid finishes in both.

Griffith, the young Hudson, NH driver is first trying to continue his upstart season on the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) as that tour travels to Beech Ridge Motor Speedway for the make-up event that was rained out from Saturday, July 9th. The main event is 150 laps on the 3/8-mile oval and Derek hopes to start his week off right, he explains, “The last time we came here, we had a mechanical issue which forced us out early, I am hoping this time, we can ride our momentum and grab a nice top-5 finish.

Our FEP Insurance/Hitman Industries Toyota is always competitive, thanks to my Crew Chief Louie Mechalides. He’s really stepping up and providing us with a fast race car, every race.”

After the PASS event, the Tyngsboro, MA based race team will load up and get ready to compete for 200 green flag laps at the Seekonk Speedway in the US Pro Stock/SLM National Championship event, $10,000 to the winner and this will be the first time the 19 year-old Griffith will compete at the Seekonk, Massachusetts race track.

“We usually do great at places I’ve never raced at, says Griffith. We won at Claremont, got a great finish at Speedway 95 and did well in our PASS efforts at Oxford. We’re not sure if we’ll use our Granite State Pro Stock Series Pro Stock or our PASS Super Late Model for this race. I think Beech Ridge; a day earlier may dictate that call.”

The post time for the PASS Southern Maine Jeep Chrysler 150 from Beech Ridge is set for Tuesday, July 12 at 7 pm. The post time for the 200-lap Seekonk race is Wednesday, July 13th at 6 pm.
